The Commonwealth Pool has reopened after a £37 million pound renovation. The pool has undergone a huge renovation to make sure it is prepared for the 2014 Commonwealth Games which are due to be held in Glasgow. It will reopen to the public today with a new 25 metre diving pool, a teaching pool, a gym and a café.
The pool was originally built in 1970 and was opened by Princess Anne. It has already held two Commonwealth Games. The pool will also play home to the British Olympic Swimming Squad who will begin their training there ahead of the London 2012 Olympics.
